There are people out there who need to know about your shoes. Who long to have a keek into your shoe-drobe.
Some of the most loved posts on this blog have been guest blog posts. I am the kind of person who pesters people whom I think won’t slap me to blog for me. If I haven’t pestered you yet, it’s probably because I think that you will. Slap me that is. If you would like to guest blog for me (and I would LOVE you too) here is a bit of background information.
1. Post Length
Anything up to 500 words in a .doc or .docx file will do.
2. Photographs and Images
Please give me at least one original image to use. I am happy to include copyright notices and creative commons licence numbers as appropriate.
Please make sure that you include links to your own blog(s) and/or Twitter/Facebook/Myspace/Livejournal pages (or similar). The whole point of guest blogging is to spread the blog love around in a messy, sticky but ultimately satisfying way. If you are linking to your blog, indicate this by using square brackets round your URL link and I’ll do the rest.
Promote the guest post as often as you can. I have somewhere in the region of 900 followers on Twitter. At least a few of them are going to be interested in what you have to say. Tweet about your guest blog, stick it on your blog, mention it on Facebook, radio, television etc etc.
4. About you
You are more interesting to my readers than I am. They already know me. Think of yourself as the exotic and alluring dinner party guest who turns up with an exquisite bottle of wine, an air of mystery and a kick arse attitude. Then tell me a bit about yourself to flesh out the mystique. Give me a bit of biographical information about you or some links to online material that will allow me to craft a biography for you.
5. Quid Pro Quo
If you want me to blog for you, just ask. I am not the most prolific writer in the world, nor the most eloquent but I do like meeting new people – online and offline.
